The problem
I wanted one place for F1 standings, results, race analysis and history that works on a phone and costs nothing to run. The free Jolpica-F1 API makes that possible, but it allows each visitor 500 requests an hour, and career, team and records pages would need far more than that.
The solution
A React 19 + TypeScript app built with shadcn/ui and TanStack Query. Finished seasons (final standings, plus every winner, podium, pole and fastest lap) are bundled as a snapshot that loads only when a page needs it, so the API is asked only about the current season. Requests are spaced to stay under the burst limit and back off when rate-limited, and past seasons are cached in IndexedDB. On top of that sit the title fight (who can still win, and what the leader needs to clinch), tyre strategy from OpenF1, lap-by-lap positions, gaps and race pace, head-to-heads, driver, team and circuit pages with track maps, .ics calendar export and share-as-image cards. All view state lives in the URL, and it installs as an offline PWA. Vitest renders the app in jsdom against a fake API and runs axe accessibility checks; it deploys to Cloudflare Workers on every push.
